Halloween 2011

I love Halloween.  The kids picking their costumes, the cuteness of dressing up, seeing all the other cute little ones, the fellowship of going out in the community and trick or treating, just so fun!  This year was a little less fun for us since Peyton has been battling a nasty virus all week with fever.  But he was fever-free for a few hours so I let him go downtown for a short period of time so he wouldn't miss out totally.  You know he is feeling bad when we had only been gone about 30 minutes and he asked if it was time to go home.  So he came home and passed out candy to the few trick or treaters we had while Daddy was tagged to take Jaedyn and her friend door-to-door.  All in all the kids had fun.  Just kinda a bummer for me this year but there is always next year!  Have to share a few pictures of the cutest little policeman and go-go girl I have ever seen!
Have a blessed Sunday!

Rock the Shot contest entry...

I am entering, just for fun and because I never do anything like this, a photo in a contest at the www.rocktheshotforum.com. The stipulations were that it had to be a fall photo and must include children.  So after looking through my pictures and trying to decide on which one I would like to submit I have chosen the one below.  This picture was taken at the Pumpkin Patch that my family and I visit each year.  My son was so excited to be there he couldn't decide on which pumpkin to pick.  He just kept walking each row of pumpkins saying "what about this one".  We just followed along!  I edited this picture in Lightroom 3 by warming it a little, taking out a little of the yellows, and then enhancing the oranges.  Click on the above link to their forum and check out all the entries!

Have a blessed weekend!

Our Favorite Family Fall Tradition...

Each year, since Peyton was a baby, we head to Flower Mound to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch.  It is a little dusty and our allergies give us fits but the fun far outweighs that. Sure it is a trip but so worth it.  We always let the kids pick their pumpkins and then we pick a family pumpkin. I get my pumpkin pictures that I so adore each year and the kids (after the pictures, of course) get to have snow cones, get their face painted, visit all the bounce houses, and this year we all rode the hay ride.  So fun!  Check out a few of my favorites below!
I just love fall, except for the allergies!  Love the pumpkins, fall colors, cooler weather (I wish), scarecrows, Halloween costumes, etc.  October is one of my favorites!!!

Have a blessed week!

Whitney Homecoming 2011

This is the first year that both of my kids are in school.  Jaedyn and Peyton were so excited to go to the game.  This was the first year Jaedyn said she wanted a mum. So my good friend (and her incredibly artistic self) whipped Jaedyn up a very unique and beautiful mum and Peyton a super cute "gardener" (garter) as he calls it.  Everyone loved them and thought they were adorable!  Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a few little pictures of the festivities!
Have a blessed week!

Oh, by the way, all session for the month of November are booked.  October only has a couple of spots left so if you are wanting a session before the 1st of the year book now!

Blessings through disaster...

You know God works in mysterious ways...I know this and say this often but he reaffirms it in my life so often.  On Thursday our town was the site of a disastrous wildfire.  It could have been so much worse but thanks to all of our emergency response teams, forestry service, local firemen and women, sheriff's department, etc it did not turn into near the devastating situation it could have been.  I had the privilege of working at our church which was the command center as a volunteer and helped organize many aspects of the efforts to help the families and emergency workers. What a team God brought together!  Through  all these terrible sets of circumstances I was blessed beyond measure by the outpouring of generosity of our community and way beyond.  So proud of how God brought everyone together to save homes, help people who did lose homes, and just neighbors helping each other.  Below are some of the pictures of this horrible fire.  Please pray for all these people and others who were affected by this fire.  Many lost homes, property, and many important things to them but thanks to God they will always have the most important thing, His love and their salvation!  God bless you all!
