Does this look like the picture of an 8 year old??!! (sniff, sniff!)

When I took this picture of Jaedyn I didn't realize it would touch me so. As I reviewed my pictures from our last shoot this one just kept talking to me. It evokes so many emotions in me as a mother. She isn't a little girl anymore - more like a young lady. I am blessed that she is still a Mommy's Girl but this picture just makes me think of her as a baby, the toddler, and even now...her tender heart, her sense of right and wrong (and believe me, it IS either RIGHT or WRONG with her, no gray area), and her naivety. I think of all she has yet to do and will do, all the hopes and dreams I have for her and how she is just a one-of-a-kind person who I hope will always be that way no matter what others tell her she should be. She lets the Lord guide her heart and tries to live the way He would have her to and holds others to that expectation as well. I truly think all those things and more when I listen to how this picture speaks to me. Today looking at this picture of my eldest baby I celebrate her and all the things the Lord has in store for her. I pray I am part of those wonderful things and I pray that I can be all I am supposed to be for her as her mom.

Bribery at its best...

Warned Jaedyn all week that we would be having a little "photo shoot" this weekend. Since we have an extra day this weekend and the weather is cooler it was the perfect opportunity for me to practice a little. Bubba even jumped in and volunteered at the last minute - might have been the snow cone bribe from the new ice cream shoppe in town?! At any rate, got some pictures I am happy with. Perfect light last night and good naps make for some decent pictures for me!! :)

Spending some time tonight editing some shoots I have done lately. With the first week of school under my belt maybe I can stay caught up - Ha! I wish! Sorry have been missing in action...

It has been a LONG week. I have been working at school almost round the clock between teacher inservices, our family having the stomach virus, my car having a dead battery, and meet the teacher night tonight. So, I have just taken a breath tonight. I sit here looking at the HUGE bag of school stuff I brought home to tackle (not until Sunday - I need a day off from that!) and thinking of all the little things that need to be done before the first day of school on Monday. I am spending most of the day tomorrow editing some pictures for two families and that have waited patiently all week for me to get their photos ready and then off to another photo shoot tomorrow night. Can't wait! Hoping to get a few of Jaedyn tomorrow in her first day outfit!! So, off to bed to get some rest before I start to tackle my to-do list tomorrow morning early!

Sick Baby Girl

Well we are nursing a sick baby girl here at home. Bubba had the stomach bug earlier in the week ALL night long and babygirl woke up this morning at 5:30 with it. So maybe it will end with them. Finally got my classroom in some kind of order yesterday. Now jut 999,000 things to do instead of 1 million. Have my photo shoot this evening. Nervous but can't wait! Lord help me have wisdom and great exposure and composition!! :)
Hopefully will be back this weekend with some great pictures of a 10 year old young man!!
