summertime, summertime...

Well, as usual, we have been busy, busy, busy.  I have been so blessed with lots of photo sessions lately and even a couple of bookings for weddings  this summer.  I am just feeling so excited about all these opportunities!
I had the opportunity to photograph a 50th wedding anniversary of a very special couple that attends our church.  I cannot tell you what a wonderful example of a loving and respectful relationship they are to others around them, as well as what true christian influences they have been in our lives.  I love them dearly and I felt so blessed to be there on this special day with them to honor  them.
Below are a few pictures from their special day...

It's getting close

Well the beginning of school is creeping up on me so I have to get it in gear and get some things done around the house - you know, those things I have had on my 'to do list' since I got out of school in May but just haven't had the enery or motivation to do. Nothing like a deadline - August 16 - to get you in high gear because life as I know it will be over once school starts. My mind will be consumed with school stuff 24/7 and the other teeny bit of time will be spent loving on my kids and breaking up their arguments. :) Hope you have all had a great summer. Ours has been WAY busier than we expected and the last few weeks filled with sadness.

I am excited to share with you all that I have 2 scheduled photo shoots coming up this month and 2 others yet to have a definite date. So I am super-excited about that! Wish me luck! Hopefully with each click of my shutter my skills are getting better and I am acquiring more knowledge about photography in general.

We went to the farm last night. Enjoyed a peaceful country evening after the heat dissapated a little - about 8:00. Had to take a few pictures - bribed the kids. Wanted to practice silhouettes, some shadows, and some linear pictures. Got a few, but nothing to write home about. I am sharing a few with you today. Please leave me comments on what you think. Still looking for various designs of chairs (colors preferred), antique suitcases, metal/wooden tubs or small troughs for photography shoots. Finished my aqua colored chair. Can't wait to bribe Jaedyn to do a photo shoot for me to practice with it! :)
Have a great Thursday!

Home again, Home again!

We are home. Went to the Ranger Game last night after being gone for several days with the funeral and tending to family business. Please continue to keep my family in your prayers. We already had tickets to the Ranger game so we decided to keep our plans to go. We all had a great time but are pretty exhausted since we have been gone so many days. Glad to be home and get some rest. Concentrating on getting things ready for school to start, getting the house straightened up, and getting some photo shoots booked. Hoping today isn't too hot! Adding some pictures of the kids I took at the Waco Suspension Bridge a couple of weeks ago! Some of my favorites.

Have a blessed day!

A hole in my heart

On Saturday night our dear family lost the glue that binds us together. Our Nannie (or Nana) went home to be with Jesus. After a short illness and many attempts to fight it off, the Lord decided it was time to take her to be with Him. We are grieving but know she is rejoicing to be in Heaven. Please keep my family in your prayers as we all hold tight to each other as we grieve and remember the wonderful person she was as we memorialize her at her funeral tomorrow.

Blogger Newbie

I have been working on setting up my blog and tweaking it to make it more interesting to read. Boy I didn't know that when I set out to do photography part-time I would have to be a computer whiz in the process. There are so many more aspects that go into photography that people aren't aware of. It is more than just taking a good picture! I am loving delving into this world of photography and all the things that go along with it. Many days I feel like it stretches my brain capacity but I take a break, consult my photographer friends, and then go back and try again. I would love to be able to practice more but lately it has been just too darn hot. I wouldn't know where else I would live since I have never lived anywhere except Texas but I hate the heat.
Here's hoping for a cool front...
I know the pictures of the kids have nothing to do with my post but these are couple of my favorites so far this summer!
