Whitney Homecoming 2011

This is the first year that both of my kids are in school.  Jaedyn and Peyton were so excited to go to the game.  This was the first year Jaedyn said she wanted a mum. So my good friend (and her incredibly artistic self) whipped Jaedyn up a very unique and beautiful mum and Peyton a super cute "gardener" (garter) as he calls it.  Everyone loved them and thought they were adorable!  Of course this post wouldn't be complete without a few little pictures of the festivities!
Have a blessed week!

Oh, by the way, all session for the month of November are booked.  October only has a couple of spots left so if you are wanting a session before the 1st of the year book now!

Blessings through disaster...

You know God works in mysterious ways...I know this and say this often but he reaffirms it in my life so often.  On Thursday our town was the site of a disastrous wildfire.  It could have been so much worse but thanks to all of our emergency response teams, forestry service, local firemen and women, sheriff's department, etc it did not turn into near the devastating situation it could have been.  I had the privilege of working at our church which was the command center as a volunteer and helped organize many aspects of the efforts to help the families and emergency workers. What a team God brought together!  Through  all these terrible sets of circumstances I was blessed beyond measure by the outpouring of generosity of our community and way beyond.  So proud of how God brought everyone together to save homes, help people who did lose homes, and just neighbors helping each other.  Below are some of the pictures of this horrible fire.  Please pray for all these people and others who were affected by this fire.  Many lost homes, property, and many important things to them but thanks to God they will always have the most important thing, His love and their salvation!  God bless you all!

Just because...

I took my kids out to the farm (my in-laws) this weekend to spend some time while their daddy went dove hunting.  Granny had been wanting some pictures of her with the kids and I decided we better get it done since we hadn't had much time lately.  We went down by the barn and looked for some cool places.  There were plenty.  They had even (to my surprise) pulled an old chevrolet truck out of the barn. WOW!  Made me giddy with excitement to think  what kind of great pictures I could get with that...if only I had a willling subject for an hour.  I didn't, so I made do with what I had.  Still thinking of who I can bribe to go out there and experiment with pictures using the truck, barn, etc. These are a few I got while out there.  The sun was still pretty high in the sky but I think I got some good ones. Hoping to get school settled down a little so I can get out more and explore, practice, and learn some new things with my photography!
