Flicker of Hope...

Seeing a flicker (of light and hope) at the end of what has been a very long tunnel the last few weeks. God is amazing! Even when I am super busy and put Him on the backburner He still knows what I need and provides (making me realize I am so blessed but so unworthy!) Just wanted to send this thought out there into blog world! Make Him front and center today...I was sure reminded to today! If you didn't get a chance to see my beautiful daughter's insightful picture in my last post, please scroll down! Leave me a comment if you can sometime! Wondering who reads my (super exciting)posts about my life :) Hopefully with this being the beginning of fall God will bless us with some beautiful cool weather and I can get out and take some equally beautiful pictures to share!
God bless you all!

Does this look like the picture of an 8 year old??!! (sniff, sniff!)

When I took this picture of Jaedyn I didn't realize it would touch me so. As I reviewed my pictures from our last shoot this one just kept talking to me. It evokes so many emotions in me as a mother. She isn't a little girl anymore - more like a young lady. I am blessed that she is still a Mommy's Girl but this picture just makes me think of her as a baby, the toddler, and even now...her tender heart, her sense of right and wrong (and believe me, it IS either RIGHT or WRONG with her, no gray area), and her naivety. I think of all she has yet to do and will do, all the hopes and dreams I have for her and how she is just a one-of-a-kind person who I hope will always be that way no matter what others tell her she should be. She lets the Lord guide her heart and tries to live the way He would have her to and holds others to that expectation as well. I truly think all those things and more when I listen to how this picture speaks to me. Today looking at this picture of my eldest baby I celebrate her and all the things the Lord has in store for her. I pray I am part of those wonderful things and I pray that I can be all I am supposed to be for her as her mom.
Sorry to ramble for those who don't know me well enough yet on this blog but for those who do know that I am most proud in my life to just be a mommy! God bless you all and have a great rest of the weekend!

The Whitney Flood...

Here are a few pictures of our "flood" last week. We ended up getting somewhere around 11 inches in less than 24 hours. The pictures were mid-afternoon after the rain had stopped and the water had receeded for a couple of hours. It was much worse while it was raining. More water than my kids had ever seen in one area in town. These pictures were around the bridges in town and ditches in our area. One is of our backyard.

Fall mini sessions

Fall mini sessions are approaching...For those of you who aren't familiar with this, here are the details. Many families love to have pictures taken for the holidays whether it be for Christmas presents for family or just for pictures for themselves or for the family Christmas photo card. This is a great option for the family that wants a shorter photo session for those few select pictures for these purposes (and a little cheaper than the pay-by-the-hour photo shoot). So, I will have two opportunities for you to take advantage of this. I will have one Saturday in October and one Saturday in November. I won't do any in December since it is so hectic and you will want those pictures before then! :) I will select one location for each day and all appointments will be shot in that area. If you have a request we can work something out possibly. Fall mini sessions will include 30-45 minute time slot for your family and a CD of AT LEAST 20 edited images from the shoot with copyright release. The cost per session will be $75.
If you have questions you can leave me a comment or e-mail me at jennifergauerphotography@gmail.com Once I make the final arrangements (dates/locations) it will be on a first come first serve basis for appointments so please don't hesitate if this is something you are interested in! Can't wait to capture those memories for you!
Look for final details in the next week!
Have a blessed Labor Day!

Bribery at its best...

Warned Jaedyn all week that we would be having a little "photo shoot" this weekend. Since we have an extra day this weekend and the weather is cooler it was the perfect opportunity for me to practice a little. Bubba even jumped in and volunteered at the last minute - might have been the snow cone bribe from the new ice cream shoppe in town?! At any rate, got some pictures I am happy with. Perfect light last night and good naps make for some decent pictures for me!! :)

Hope you enjoy! God bless you and enjoy your Labor Day Holiday!!
