Happy New Year...Here's to 2012!

Sitting here after a fun night with family...we had a great meal, cooked on my new stove, played some Wii as a family, and had a devotional time.  Then we discussed resolutions.  Even Peyton participated this year... "to use nice words to people out of my mouth, to not hit the cat anymore, oh! and to kill my first deer!" Jaedyn's was "to make better choices when I have friends over and show people I am 'sweet-hearted'".  So sweet both of them.  I have been thinking this week, and well actually over the last few months, about some changes I want to make.  I know you can do that anytime during the year but I do love that "fresh start" feeling you get at the beginning of a new year. I guess my "motto" for this year is going to be to LIVE LIFE WITH INTENTION!  I have been doing a bible study, growing in the Word, listening to God talk to my heart, and just drawing closer to Him these last few months.  I do want to simplify my life, concentrate on what REALLY matters, make that evident to others around me, and to serve those around me better.  "Be a good and faithful servant unto the Lord".  I want to not just let life pass me by and dread getting through the days until Friday, you know we all do :)  But I want to intentionally plan things, do things that help others with my time, really SEE my kids and be there for them with my undivided attention and unconditional love.  I think instead of having the excuse "well we are so busy" or "life just passes you by" I will try to embrace really taking life in and honestly just making the things I do in life intentional and not just by accident or when I have time!  Sorry to get so deep but since this blog also serves as kind of a journal this helps me to really stay true to the course when I go back and read it! :)  I cannot say enough how I truly hope God's fullest blessings are upon you and yours this new year and, as I plan to do, focus on honoring Him and pleasing Him each day!
Happy 2012!
